Tool + NETSH Wireless Passwords

Review all WIFI Network credentials saved on your local machine

*Known Bug: WIFI Networks w/o credentials don’t always populate

The following tool was created specifically for end users who have lost or forgot their WIFI Network password(s).  This tool is useful when you have connected to a network on your PC and need it for another device such as a phone, PS4, XBOX, etc.

Note the following application requires admin privileges and .NET Framework (4.6.1).

The Application

You’ll need to have admin privileges as well as .NET Framework (4.6.1) installed to use the app correctly.

Running the Application (It’s Simple)
  • File > Refresh
Copying the Password
  • Click on the WIFI Image or the selected row
The Process
  • Download the Application (Security)
    • Smart Screen > More Info
    • Smart Screen > Run Anyways
  • Attempts to grab all available wireless networks to receive the Signal Quality
    • As noted, there is a bug where it won’t always grab all networks
  • Uses Windows built-in NETSH
    • Locates all Saved Wireless Networks
    • Loops through each network to grab the details including the credentials
  • Exits the routine

Improvements:

Some easy changes that could be implemented for your own use.

  • Connecting / Disconnecting to Wireless Networks
    • Implement a context menu or button to connect to the network through the application
    • Auto Connect to the highest quality network
  • Speed Tests / Network Tests
    • Implement a simply ping / speed test to each network for better representation
